Well MuseNexus - The Musicians Network is a co-creative network of professional musicians who are passionate about playing music 'live' and want to earn their living from music. MuseNexus is a well organised and structured system (both online and offline) where clients looking for live music and musicians who want more gigs, can meet and 'exchange' for mutual benefit. Supporting each other and the music industry. Plus, MuseNexus trains musicians to be more successful through self development, training and ongoing courses.

Who runs The Musicians Network?
MuseNexus - The Musicians Network was founded by musicians Ben Edom and Debra Carey, who have worked in the music industry internationally for over 30 years. Plus, they have many years experience in business, marketing, sales and PR in the UK and Europe.
MuseNexus is now run by selected musicians within the Network, who believe, value and support the vision for a new music industry. Additionally, we partner with various professionals such as copywriters, internet marketers and promotion specialists to ensure we develop ongoing "gig getting" projects for MuseNexus.
Who can join The Musicians Network?
Any musician who considers themselves a professional working musician can join the Network. Your music, attitude and presentation must suit the market you are targeting. What does this mean? Well, you should appreciate that each type of event you are playing for has it's expectations. For example, playing at a weddings requires a certain attitude and dress code!
We will also help you to develop a winning attitude and amazing skills to promote yourself and your music. You can take your 'music business' as lightly or as seriously as you like.
We interview each musician or band that applies to join, to ensure music quality and that you're willing to work with the MuseNexus system.
How much can you earn?
If you look after your own gigs ....
Then your earnings will depend on how much you market yourself and develop your music business. We give you everything you need to go and power ahead with your music.
If we work with you to get more gigs ....
And if you use our Booking Service, then the sky is the limit! We'll establish your rates with you based on your experience, professionalism and reputation. This fee will often be more than what you get for a gig through an agent because we are aiming to re-set rates for musicians in the UK. We add on a set booking fee for organising the event but keep it as low as possible so you, the musician, get a larger slice of the cake. The fee we add on is dependent on the gig but we'll let you know what they are when you join. At the moment it ranges from £30 through to a maximum of £125 for large groups.
Whats the Deal then?
For Clients:
We make it easy for people to book live music by providing an efficient and organised Booking Service, easy to use websites with plenty of music samples for clients to listen to and compare, plus photos, videos, reviews and availability calendar. Rather than searching for musicians on the web which can be frustrating at best, clients can go to one place and browse through options. Or call one of our Business Members for advice on the right type of music for their event.
These customers, who are looking to book live music can be individuals who are arranging a wedding or event, a Corporate Company looking for entertainment, Event Organisers, Festival Committees, Venues arranging their own functions, Concert Promoters, Film Makers, Commercial Advertisers and any other situation where live music is called for.
For You, the Musician:
You get regular work through MuseNexus without needing to constantly market yourself. We're fast becoming the No. 1 place for clients to find and hire live music. As a member you and your music will easily reach these clients.
PLUS, you'll also get:
- MORE GIGS by promoting you in the RIGHT WAY on our websites. Then we promote these websites to the RIGHT markets (clients looking for live music)
- BETTER RATES for your gigs! We negotiate with you, your best possible rates so that we can be competitive and get lots more gigs for you.
- We do all the PAPERWORK and CONTRACTS for you (if you use our Booking Service), so you don't have to. We arrange everything to do with the gig and send you a Booking Agreement (Contract) every time, so it's all in writing and legal.
- We ARRANGE PAYMENT for the gig either direct to you in cash on the day or through us, so you can be sure you'll get paid.
- We GET FEEDBACK from clients so that you know what people think of your music and will build your reputation.
- We help you MARKET and PROMOTE YOUR MUSIC successfully.
All this is very handy when musicians are on tour and you need a central UK based office for organising your gigs. In fact, some of our members have already asked us to handle all of their gig bookings as it makes their lives so much easier. While out playing, if someone wants to book them for a gig, the musicians just asks them to get in touch with MuseNexus. We do the rest!
All that's left for to do is to talk to your clients about the music they want for their event. After all, the music is what you do best!

Non-Exclusivity
You're free to get gigs through your own means, an agent or anything else. You can continue to do this alongside your MuseNexus Membership.
All we ask is that if you get an enquiry through MuseNexus or from one of our Business Members, then continue to deal with us for that booking. It will really annoy our Business Members if you take a gig away from them and you probably won't be offered any work in the future.
Leaving MuseNexus
You are free to leave the network at any time. Your Online Portfolio and information will be removed from all projects.
Membership Fees
MuseNexus currently offers 3 Types of Membership:
Associate is FREE
Member is £25 per year
PROFESSIONAL Membership is £84 per year OR £7.00 per month
These memberships give you access to a host of benefits, information, courses, tools, software and most important of all, they give access to the people who are looking for your type of music.

REMEMBER ....
We NEVER ask for money for advertising or marketing our projects, we take care of that from what The Musician's Network earns and invests in.
Everyone is treated equally and fairly.
We NEVER sell your information to other companies. Your details are kept strictly confidential and only offered to the clients that are booking you, with your permission.
We ALWAYS endeavour to get the best deal for you, the musician.
What we need from you.
- Photos, biographies and music samples are the most important things we need from you. Without these we can't market you to anyone.
It may be possible to take these things from your website, if you have one, but they need to be good quality and of a decent size. Also, we need your permission and your assurance that we're not infringing any copyrights by doing this. For music samples, your current CD is fine. We can convert the music as necessary, and as we are only using the music as samples, your permission is all that we need. - Any videos of performances or professionally produced videos are great to help us sell you
- Update your Online Calendar regularly. We'll set you up with your own calendar which you will need to update regularly
- An idea of where you are willing to travel to within and without the UK
- Stage plans, backstage requirements, etc that we need to know about
- Your fees/rates for size of band/group, including how long you play for, any extra costs if after a certain time, etc, etc. Once we get these from you we will discuss them with you to make sure you are pricing yourselves correctly for the market you are aiming for. Important: You need to give us your BEST price. Knowing what we add on top, YOU get most of the money, so gigs are more profitable, but there's no benefit to anyone if you price yourself out of the market
